A traditional sea shanty

Esther: As a young child, I fell asleep to my mother singing the lullabies she learned as a child. Like our mother, my sister and I grew up singing. We would often sing together and with our friends. I used to say that I wished I played the banjo so that we could form our own all woman old time folk band. After the birth of our second child in 2011, my husband gave me a banjo for Mother’s Day. He appreciated how intensely focused I was in the raising of our children and wanted to encourage me to take some time to develop one of my own interests.
